These self-reflections seem to be getting a bit easier to do. I have always struggled with self-evaluation. I have struggled with giving myself credit where credit is due and praising my own accomplishments. I KNOW that I can always do better and I can always think about where I need to improve, but I am beginning to be able to recognize where I am strong. After careful consideration, I believe that this time around I deserve a 97 out of 100 for the EDLD 5313 course and a 97 out of 100 for the EDLD 5389 course.
Here is how I justify my decision:.
My key contributions:
How I can improve (I like to start with this)... I have been slowly getting better at completing my discussion posts in a more timely manner, however, I can absolutely do better. I started off doing well with my initial discussion posts, but began to fall short of completing them weekly and I got stuck doing a lot of work on them this last week. I also feel that I need to make my response posts to my colleagues a bit more in depth. I usually only scratch the surface, and I need to do better. I guess I forget to respond to them because we are always chatting in our cohorts and I forget to respond on the discussions.
Things I feel confident I did well (although I can ALWAYS improve)... I watched every video and read every article that was posted in the modules or the discussions boards at least once, often more than once. I always respond to my peers in a positive, respectful, and diplomatic way. I worked hard on going back to each page of my eportfolio to see what changes needed to be made. I spent a lot of time on my assignments, making sure I followed all instructions.
Other key contributions...
I collaborated with 2 different groups on a daily basis. I was part of a larger groups of fellow students through Groupme, some of whom I feel that I became close with. There are 17 members in the group, however, there are a handful of us (me, Karin, Jas, Andrea, Andrei, Kelven, Ileana, Kim, Pedro, Rachel, and Stephen) that collaborated almost daily (even on the weekends), provided feedback to each other, and sometimes we were just there to lend an ear and support each other. My smaller collaboration group was based on our innovation ideas. Kelven Wilson (https://kelvenwilson.wordpress.com/2021/12/10/contribution-to-learning-and-reflection/)and Andrei Dobrodumov (https://dobrodumov.wixsite.com/website). This semester we added two more colleagues to our collaboration group: Andrea Harrell https://dobrodumov.wixsite.com/website and Danielle Lopez https://daniellelopez058.wixsite.com/my-site/. The five of us shared some resources, collaborated about blended learning in our classrooms, and were there to help when the others needed us.
As stated earlier in this blog post, I read all of the required readings and watched all of the videos and met all of the deadlines.
I spent many many hours creating my eportfolio, tweaking it, redoing it, playing around with it, re-arranging it, and stressing over it. I am, however, very pleased with it!
Supporting Contributions...
I was definitely a leading voice in my larger collaboration group as well as in my smaller group, and I orally participated in most of the zoom meetings for both EDLD 5313 as well as EDLD 5389.
I participated in all discussion posts and collaboration discussions outside of class.
I posted some of my discussion posts early in the class. I posted in most others somewhat early enough for my peers to respond.
I feel comfortable with my use of APA in my posts and assignments.
I tried to add depth and higher order thinking to all of my discussion posts.
I joined or watched all of the meetings with the professors.
I am very happy that I decided to stay in the accelerated program for this degree. I was thinking of going to just one class at a time, but after discussing it with my cohorts, I decided to stay in the accelerated program so we can all graduate together. I am so glad that they were there to tell me that we are all there to support each other! WE GOT THIS, and it’s over halfway over!
These classes have forced me to become a better thinker, learner, and teacher! I am so glad I chose this degree!
