Installing 4DX
In order for an innovative idea to become a successful reality, you need a team, a team that can support you and help you bring your idea to life. Once you get your team together, you and your team have some work to do. The team must be able to collaborate to create a plan. All of the members of the team must also be open to changing some behaviors they may be accustomed to. The best way to help your team embrace the change is to have the team adopt ideas from The 4 Disciplines of Execution that were introduced by Chris McChesney, Sean Covey, and Jim Huling.
I have an innovative idea of implementing blended learning in my school through a station rotation model. My implementation plan can be found by clicking the green button here:
I will be creating a team of first grade teachers that will assist me in creating a blended learning environment in the first grade at my school. Together we will use the 4DX disciplines and the 5 stages of change to implement "a set of proven practices that meet challenge successfully" (McChesney, et al, 2016, p. 3).
Below you can see what the 4DX and the 5 Stages of Change are and how I plan to use them both to springboard my innovation plan.

The WIG: By the end of the first semester of the 2022-2023 school year, 75% of all first grade students at Genoa Elementary will be learning through a blended learning station rotation model.
In order for the WIG to be reached, team members must act on lead and lag measures. Possible lead measures for the team could be: 1) First grade teachers will implement blended learning through a station rotation model no less than 1 lesson per week. 2) All team members will track data of which students are utilizing the blended learning station rotation model.
All members of the team will meet every 2 weeks in order to discuss data until the WIG is met. Once the WIG is met, all members of the team will work together to create the next WIG for the team to conquer.

Teachers will track the number of students each week that use the station rotation and put that number/total number of students in the class.

For stage 1, my team will get together and create a clear WIG that we would like to use for the blended learning station rotation models that will be used in the first grade classrooms. The team will decide the best way to implement blended learning through the use of a station rotation. We will then discuss what lead and lag measures we would need in order to accomplish our first WIG.

For stage 2, the team members will begin to create, present, and share blended learning lessons through a station rotation model. Team members will ensure the students are beginning to utilize the station rotation model.

For stage 3, all members of the team will input data collected into the scoreboard to compare data with each other.

For stage 4, the team members will begin to lose all doubt and become fully engaged in the process. Team members will be fully engaged in creating blended learning lessons and inputting weekly data into the scoreboard.

For stage 5, the members of the team will celebrate accomplishments and participate in all parts of the 4DX without thinking about it. If the WIG has been accomplished, the team creates a new WIG and lead and lag measures to go with the WIG.
