Class Discussion on PLAY as teaching tool

crissmanc

  • Consider how play combines passion, imagination, and constraint and is the emergent property of the application of rules to the imagination.

  • I started my career in education at a daycare. I learned about the importance of learning through play. Kids learn best when they play, explore, and use their imagination. Play has actually become a huge thing for adults now as well. Many people play games on the internet or on their phones. While they are playing, they are learning. They might be learning a new way to perform a task or a new what to beat a game. No matter, we are always learning new things when we engage in play. It sparks our passion and our imagination. Our world escapes outside of the four walls that hold us in. The world is limitless, and so is the world of knowledge.
